Rear hook AKA punch number 4
The rear hook is very similar to the lead hook (the 3) except because of that staggered stance this punch has a greater distance to travel. When throwing this punch we need to commit to it but not bring our chest over our front knee and bringing us off balance.
As we throw this punch we have to generate a big rotation on the hip by pivoting on the rear back foot and opening up that hook a little wider to make the target.
As you reach around with that hook with your elbow up your shoulder will help you protect your chin. Reminder to keep that lead hand up to create a high guard to protect the face as you commit to this punch.
